drake halogens in a 36?

I've been blind for a long time but now Drake says they make a halogen conversion with reflectors that have the proper focal length for the halogen bulb.

Anybody tried these? I'd prefer not to be the $135 guinea pig.

I can't speak for a '36, but I have them in my '38 and they work well.

I put them in my '35 and I love em'. I'm also running a Powergen.

I think a better solution is to get a pair of 170-957H bulbs from lbcarco. These are 6V halogen bulbs with the correct base and focal length for your original reflectors. If you use these you do not loose your parking lights. With the Drake conversion you loose the parking lights.

Will these fit a '39 Deluxe?

they will fit any light with the 3 slotted hole "pre-focus" bulb

can get 6 and 12 V, some bulbs 8v too, Anthony has a booth at Hershey usually, he also sells led bulbs, I have his bulbs in the model A for 15 years, still same ones, brighter than seal beams and use less amps, I use stock generator in the A

I'm already 12 volts and running thru high amp relays.

Drake does not say if these are 6 or 12 volt or if it's optional?

What bulb are they using - I doubt h-4's have the right focal length.

I put them in my 36, but with the original lenses, they do not put a lot of light on the road. Adequate, but not what I thought they should have done. I'm sure the lenses are causing the problem by scattering the light. They are 12 volt and were fairly easy to install. I am using a Ron Francis Wireworks relay in my panel.

I put the set in my 36 too, 12 volt, and they're "OK" but not " fantastic", I'm sure because the stock lense scatters the beam.
