Murry vs. Briggs

What is the difference in the Murry and The Briggs bodys other than the curved top on the door glasses? Thanks

Re: Murry vs. Briggs

Briggs uses D-nuts in panels, Murray uses caged square nuts.

If you don't mind, may I ask why you are posing this question?

Do you have a body that you're trying to identify?

No, I'm looking at both in a town sedan and wondering if there was any structural difference. Trying to get help on which one to buy. Thanks

By design, they have a lot of similarities but they were made different enough (two different coach builders) that most parts don't interchange. Ford farmed out what they weren't tooled up to make themselves. Both builders used a lot of wood.

Go for a slant window 1931 as they (both Murry and Briggs) have more metal and less wood than the earlier ones. Also note that the door tops are the same for both manufacturers of the slant window 1931.

The doors on the 1930 Town Sedan are different sizes between the Briggs and Murray.

It sounds like you are trying to determine if one is better to own than the other. They are structurally equivalent so go for the one that pleases you most aesthetically, or the one in the best condition if you are talking about two specific cars. We are talking about straight windshield models. There are very few body parts that are interchangeable between the two.

Are you asking if one is worth more than the other? I'd like to know that myself. Were there more Murry bodies or Briggs built? I do seem to see more Murry bodies out there than Briggs bodies.
