1932 ford transmission gears Will 32 flathead v8 transmission gears work in a 32 4 cly B transmission case ?
|
Re: 1932 ford transmission gears All of the gears and other internal parts of '32-'34 passenger car and commercial vehicle transmissions, four or V-8, are the same.

Re: 1932 ford transmission gears thanks David G,

Re: 1932 ford transmission gears Bringing up an old thread. Is there any value in used internals?
|
Re: 1932 ford transmission gears Sorry, there isn't much value in them beyond being useful paperweights when clean.

Re: 1932 ford transmission gears The answer involves the '32 shift top. If your gear swap requires an original appearance and function, the '32 shifter is going to be a big challenge.
If you are not interested in preserving the originality of the drivetrain, throw the gears and shifter in a box and save them for a future buyer of your car. The discussion of "value" should include a consideration of what your car will be worth in the future, original vs modified. Maybe DavidG, much more experienced with '32s, can offer further comment. Personally, if I had a '32, I would not be "improving" its transmission. I would consider a "temporary" swap with a later unit adding an e-brake adapter, but definitely stow the original under the workbench. |

Re: 1932 ford transmission gears Given their modest value, Hoop's suggestion makes good sense to me, especially if they seem to be in good condition.
