Yep, Tilly X. good carb. Do NOT overtighten the screws and bolts else it will warp. Most ppl tighten way too much.
If you are gonna do it yourself I recently posted a method to get the main jet out, which can be quite a challenge. search under my username

Yes, it's a Tillotson Model X, and mounted with bolts with nuts because the threads in the upper flange have been stripped. I've got one like that.

The dilemma I have is that the threads for the gas line are deteriorated. Any suggestions?

In Moller's book he says this is an insurmountable issue. I sure don't have a workaround. Check ebay they come up all the time for 30-60 bucks, use yours for parts

Two major problems with Tillotsons - 1) they warp and 2) the threads get stripped. Some warpage can be overcome by very careful fettling. Overcome stripped mouting threads at the manifold with nuts and bolts ( as your's already has), stripped threads at the drain plug can sometims be fixed with a helicoil insert but stripped threads at the gas inlet generally make it beyond encomical repair. ( you can bodge a get-you-home measure with PFTE tape or JB weld)

Thread repair in the mounting lugs is surprisingly easy. See

IMHO with Tillotsons if the mounting threads are stripped it's better to use a nut and bolt rather drill even more metal away for a Helicoil insert. Zeniths are much tougher all round and I agree that Helicoiling Zenith mountings is a good option.
