Car cover I have a 31 SW town Sedan with a trunk. I need a outdoor car cover for our trip to Puyallup. Custom covers are too expensive so I was wondering about using a SUV cover on it. Has anyone tried this and how did it work?

Re: Car cover Yes, you can go to the big box store and buy a cover for an SUV and it should keep the rain off. It may not have an inner lining that is kind to your paint, and it will most likely flop in the wind, which is also isn't kind to the paint. My paint job isn't worth worrying about and I bought one of these covers, but haven't tried it yet.
As the saying goes.....you get what you pay for. |
Re: Car cover Alternatively, you could go to a farm supply store (or go on line) and get a very large waterproof tarp for not much money. Buy a few bungee cords and you will have good cover. Be sure to stretch at least one bungee cord under the center of the car for wind control. The corners can be kept from flapping and marking the paint by stretching a bungee cord over the bumper, behind the wheel, to a spot on the side of the cover.

Re: Car cover 1 Attachment(s)
I got this one for my 31 SW Town Sedan. Working for me, it's much heavier than I expected and soft on the inside. It covers my trunk but only the top half. Don't know how it works outside.
