59A in a `32 chassis

Does the stock left side cast iron exhaust manifold clear the steering box ?

yes it does, its very close but it does clear. I have run 59a,s with stock manifolds for years in 32 fords with no heat problems to the steering box.

Almost all old Ford steering boxes are close to the exhaust manifold. This is one of the causes of steering box leaks using thin gear oil. I have used molly grease in my steering boxes for 30 years. Molly grease has a fairly low melt or drop point and the heat from the exhaust manifold softens the grease. The molly is a super lubricant and reduces wear. I always adjust mine so the center point is slightly tight and in a few weeks it wears in and stays the same for years. I set my 39 over 30 years ago and after 125,000 miles there is still no play.
