Which is the Early 28 tail lamp bracket 2 Attachment(s)
Judging standars say both are for the drum taillight and obsoleted at the end of 28. My question is which is the E28 and which is later. I know they are for my sportcoupe.

Re: Which is the Early 28 tail lamp bracket Looks like you have one from a coupe and one from a fordor. Very simular, but slightly different mounting angles. Rod

Re: Which is the Early 28 tail lamp bracket The one on the right.

Re: Which is the Early 28 tail lamp bracket Thank you and it's the one on the left is the sport coupe. Right is 28 Fordor

a story. The ones I've seen with the counter bores would fit cars with "D nuts" and the flat face ones were on flat sheet metal. Make sense? |

Re: Which is the Early 28 tail lamp bracket The one on the right is the early one for Coupe and Roadster; it is formed with a "T" at the top of the forging.
The one on the left is the later style for Coupe and Roadster. Both are for mounting the Drum Taillight. Ron |
Re: Which is the Early 28 tail lamp bracket Okay.....two questions.
1. What are the part numbers? 2. The size(measurements) match the JS? They look a lot different in size. |

Re: Which is the Early 28 tail lamp bracket A-13470......Taillight and license bracket support (Rdstr.,Coupe, Sport Coupe..... 1928
A-13473......Taillight and license bracket support (Phaeton, Tudor, Fordor...........1928 |

..But it turned out to be an A-13468 and it's smooth, no counter bores. |
Re: Which is the Early 28 tail lamp bracket Hey Guys,
The A-13470 goes on the AA's and narrow bed pickups, it must be another number, maybe A-13471-AR instead? |
Re: Which is the Early 28 tail lamp bracket The part numbers I listed came from " Parts Price List Dated January 1, 1928".
A-13470 bracket (shown on the right of photo) is the same type that was on my Sport Coupe A566. The bracket (shown on the left of photo) is the same as the bracket on my February 1929 Roadster which has a 1928 drum taillight and 1928 fluted head lights. There are changes that took place on the " Bracket Supports " by the time the " Parts Price List dated October 1,1928 " came out : A-13468.......Tail light and license bracket support- Fordor .......1928 A-13470-A ...Tail light and license bracket support - Pickup- A Panel Delivery- Bus .........1928 A-13470-B....Tail light and license bracket support (Rdstr., Coupe, Sport Coupe, Business Coupe)........1928 A-13473-A....Tail light and license bracket support (Phaeton, Tudor )......1928 NOTE....All the above support brackets take 3ea. body bolts and washers. Hi Ron,
There must have been some kind of change in part numbers between 1928 and 1931, the '31 parts list shows a picture of this one. Years ago, probably in the 70's I ordered a repro tail light bracket for my 82-A and received one similar to the photos at the top of the page which I sent back. I think now that may be due to the same part number change along the line somewhere. You can also see in the first photo an old, and really bad repro 82-A bracket. |

double A-13470.......the other is on the first page. This should be easy, if Mark would post the part numbers or sizes,.... ....or am I missing something? *the 4th and 5th photo are both the same....and I can't figure out how to delete one of them* |
Re: Which is the Early 28 tail lamp bracket SO is the consensus then that THIS is the E28 Sport Coupe Bracket
