1935 Fordor Quarter Window Rubber 1 Attachment(s)
The quarter windows on the 35 Fordor slide back a few inches. I haven't been able to find rubber seals for mine. I bought 1936 quarter windows that pivot but I'd really like to keep the stock sliding mechanism. I've thought about using the 36 rubber but I'd have to cut a slot in it for the glass to travel through. Besides, the 36 rubber is molded with indentations for the pivoting glass to close against. Has anyone found these or used something else that works? I don't want to make the glass stationary.
Here is an example of the quarter window handle (not mine). Thanks, Bob |
Re: 1935 Fordor Quarter Window Rubber Not sure if same but on Macs you can buy a rubber kit for the rear doors and quarter windows. I dont see it seperated.

Re: 1935 Fordor Quarter Window Rubber 35 quarter windows run on 'cat whiskers' felts as in the doors. A channel at front edge and flat pieces on inner and outer remainder

Re: 1935 Fordor Quarter Window Rubber Thanks Brian. So there was no rubber around the window. I was looking for something that didn't exist. The felts were attached to the body and the molding. Now I know why there were small sheet metal screws in the body. You made my day. Bob

Re: 1935 Fordor Quarter Window Rubber No worries buddy...now if you can find a way of bending the flat felts to follow the tight curvature at the back of the 1/4 windows without kinking them, I'd appreciate you telling me how to do it. LOL

Re: 1935 Fordor Quarter Window Rubber Brian - I finished one side today. Several years ago, I bought a set of window felts for the front windows but I wasn't happy with them because they didn't have the U channel for the glass to roll into. John Mason helped me with getting the set I wanted. So, I have some felts left over and I used the ones that had a bend similar to the quarter window. They were pretty easy to modify to fit the contour of the opening.
