Vent for Model A upper floorboard

4 Attachment(s)
I've been sorting through parts that I might take to the Big-3 swap meet, next month. I found an original upper floorboard with an original accessory AC vent in it.

:)

Well ok, it's probably a heater vent.

There is a rectangular metal box that attaches at the back (see last pictures) and that must have attached to the heater. Would this have attached to a water heater device or a manifold heater? Does anyone have a heater that vents from the floorboard? If so, can you show a picture?

Thanks, Neil

There are manifolds that route the air down instead if through the firewall. They connect to this floor vent. They hane both cast and sheet metal attachments as well as cast iron heater manifolds. I use the a cast iron manifold on my car.

It was for a winter heater, but it could certainly be hooked to a tube running up along the frame for a fresh air intake in the summer.

Do you happen to still have this?

I have a set-up like this for my 28 4dr ,funnel shaped close to radiator then flexed back under floor, housing over muffler for heat then outlets flexed to front and back seat with units same as yours.

I saw one just like it today at our club's swap meet at the state fairgrounds. It was in nice condition, and I was tempted to buy it, but set it back down.

I have the vent like the one in #1 and it is attached to a heater like in #6, it is mounted between the seat and the gear shift. The vent inlet on mine is round to accept a flex pipe or ridged exhaust pipe. It heats the car well until the temperature gets below 0 F.

I have one of those too, but since I put lots of miles on my A driver, I wonder where Laurie would put her feet and if it would really route enough volume to heat the cab. garyaodell says it works well to 0. Does anyone else use one of these. The Auto-Lite through-the-firewall heater REALLY blasts and it gets cold here with periods of -10 and lower that last for weeks.
