hello- see attached picture-is the foot pedal button below the clutch pedal original or was it something someone added?'28 phaeton. I can't find anything about it anywhere. thank you

Not original. Looks like a later dimmer switch.

It does look like a dimmer switch. But, what does the rest of it look like ? And, what's it hooked to ?

Dimmer switch is my guess as well. Is it wired to anything?

Could be dimmer, could be starter. Are there other non standard switches somewhere?
Maybe the original light switch bellied up and they rewired everything.

thanks to all-all its wires are cut off-i think i'll just remove it
