2 3/8 using a tape measure, Lab Testing may get to acceptable MARC/MAFCA measurements.

Roadster 62,

At 2 3/8" long, those are too short to be proper Model A Ford valve stem covers. They need to be 2 9/16" in length. They don't have a name, but thery were made by Dill. The details are explained in Section 22 of the Judging Standards.

At 2 3/8" those would be Model T covers. I'll take them!

The '28/'29 AA truck used dust covers which are 2-3/8" long. What is the diameter of threads for the dust cover on the one rim nut? I can check that out on the couple that I have as a comparison. Just let me know.

Neil and Roadster62,

True, that the AA in 28-29 used both Schrader and Dill dust covers that are 2 3/8" inch in length. However, the correct covers on the AA are the wide base style, unlike the Dill dust covers in the photograph in the original post. The details of the AA dust covers are on pages E-26 and E-27, of the "Heavy Commercial Vehicles" section of the Judging Standards.

Thanks Mike, the ones on the left are the ones that can fund my retirement, correct?

I guess. If you have enough of them. But these will help fund MY retirement. I have several of them, NOS. I have a BUNCH of the wide base NOS ones, but I don't know the length. They are not here in Florida with me. I do think that they are the same as this used one, though.
Now, that I know what they are for, I'll probably offer some for sale, when I can check them out. I hope that there are some "AA" owners, out there, who want high point covers !
MIKE :)
