Restoration tip... The Bezels 1 Attachment(s)
This is for the guy's restoring the original parts.
I thought there has to be a way to "clean up and polish" the 2 bezels, the ones for the Ignition/Key switch and the Ammeter. This is what I came up with,...and it works good. I used a short piece of 1 1/2" pipe. I filed the 4 notches for the "tabs" that hold both bezels onto the panel, plus, the 5th notch the locates the Ammeter in the panel. The notches locate, are shallow for a light press fit and drive the bezel for spinning in the lathe. The 2 that I did are junk due to dings in one and a crack in the other,...I didn't know either one was bad till I cleaned up both. I was using a Scotch-Brite pad for the cleaning proses. |
Re: Restoration tip... The Bezels You can also use a soft toothbrush and toothpaste to do this as well.
