Coolant in oil, crack/head gasket? 3 Attachment(s)
I was about to go for a drive and checked oil and water, oil read just barely high on the stick but didn't really look right, I'm not sure you would call it milky, but I guess on its way there. Looking around the engine I see coolant where I took pictures.
Does it look like there is coolant where it shouldn't be? Or is it just normal from the pump? I'm guessing the best course of action right now is check if there's water coming from the drain plug on the pan, and then check the head gasket? Thanks |
Re: Coolant in oil, crack/head gasket? Sounds like a head gasket. If you find water from the drain plug I would suggest first try re-torqing the head before I got into replacing the gasket. I have had this problem before and re-torqing the head worked for me.

Re: Coolant in oil, crack/head gasket? Change the oil and retorque the head in the proper sequence.

Re: Coolant in oil, crack/head gasket? do as the others suggested, and for insurance add a can of bars leak, if the problem doesnt go away the only thing left to do is pull head and check for cracks and warpage on the head, check block carefully for cracks
