Model A era hard to find Ford items...
 

I can name two very hard to find Model A era Ford items that are very hard to find.

First was the Ford Flour sack which contained flour which was produced at the Ford Flour mill in Dearborn. It was a 5 pound sack.

The second was a 3-record set which was made for the Ford Motor Company to help salesmen sell the Model A Ford.

These two items, I doubt, will ever be found.

I have a leather winterfront for a 30-31 Model A that must be hard but not impossible to find.

Not sure how often Ford sales manuals come to the surface, I have this one which shows a few pictures of the 32 sedans, the manual is missing many pages, the separators maybe all there.
It appears to have all pages for the Fordson tractor, and all pages for the 32 commercial vehicles, what pages are there are in reasonable condition, if at all possible it would be great if someone had a complete book to view.

I think pictures of rare and unusual Model A items would be appreciated by many Fordbarn forum viewers and contributors.

the salesmans book is fairly common,especially the one you have ,for the 32 ford
but they are expensive,one went last week on ebay upwards of $400
now the book on the left i believe is much rarer, its for the 42 ford
the original paint chips are also hard to find
i like these as they show the tutone combinations with the pinstripe
this is just one example of original chips
ive seen the big chart 2'X3' im guessing on the size ,but its large

Ford also helped out his family. He sold all the extra wood from the plant to his brother-in-law. Then Henry offered charcoal stoves to ford owners, they are almost impossible to use.
The relationship? Henry's brother-in-law was named Kingsford, Kindsford charcoal. Made from the extra wood from the factory.

Pretty close. Actually Kingsford was married to a cousin of Henry's. E. G Kingsford was already a successful man in Real estate, he also owned a Ford Dealership. Since he was the big man in a small town, (Kingsford MI Pop. 40 in 1920) when Henry wanted to move his plant in the upper Peninsula area due to the timber and iron resources, he hired Edward Kingsford to broker the deal for over 300,000 acres. The Charcoal was actually produced in the chemical plant by Ford, and called Ford Charcoal. It was not renamed until a new facility was built in Kingsford MI specifically for the production of Charcoal.

I suspect , but have no documentation of this, but I suspect the initial quest for charcoal by Henry was for a smoke free fuel for the heat and numerous Steam processes required in the numerous buildings on site. Henry built over 100 homes and many factory buildings employing some 7500 people in a town that had 40 residents when he started. Coal was the fuel of the day and was a long ways off by rail. Creating Charcoal would offset the heating bill in arguably one of the coldest places in the country.

Thanks QGolden for the correction. My information came from a book on Ford, but it is circa 1970's and is a generalized Ford book by a general public type publishing house. I believe, and trust your information is more correct.

It took us quite a few years to finally find an accessory spill catch for a 28/9 gas tank...

How about the FORD PORTFOLIO TITLED ( INTERODUCTION OF THE NEW FORD CARS ) That has 7 = 2'x3' artist drawings without front bumpers that was sent to all of the dealers. I have one and that is #7 the Coupe.
