Ignition parts for modern Ford plate

I know that this information has been posted on the Forum before, but I just can't locate it. I need to know who makes ignition points and condensers for the modern Ford upper plate. I would prefer American made, or even Ford made. Other American made parts are good too.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Much of the stuff that's available is not too good and doesn't hold up.

I don't know the part numbers, but, a good parts store such as NAPA will have them. The points condenser for Ford V8 are the same from about 1955-1970. Just make sure to buy the expensive ones if more than one is available.

Others say that the condensors made in Mexico are junk, if I remember correctly.

My brother so far has 43 years on the original style points that were used when he put them on the car back in 1970.

Points do not go bad often unless the condenser is bad, the ignition cam is pitted, or they were crappy to begin with. DO NOT go changing your points just cause you feel like it. You are just making a lot more work for yourself!

The modern V8 points are no upgrade and you are more likely to get a brand new name brand condenser that is poor quality.

If you want to not worry about your points for the rest of your life, put the originals back on and get some good quality old points. I have a jar full of them that I would use cept I have 2 sets of NOS Ford I will use on my car. For that matter, find some NOS points. They are not that expensive and around just start asking.

Use the Bill Stipe ignition cam and do not forget the lubricant.

No matter which plate you use save yourself grief. Get the original type burnout proof condenser from A&L (and all the dealers). They are using a better quality condenser that is not likely fail for a very very long time. The new V8 condensers are failing on the 60 cars too.

Do not forget to oil your dist properly. You do not need the oil hole that Ford forgot. You just need to fill it per the owners manual.

Echlin points for the modern upper plate are sold as Made In USA which is technically correct as they are made in their Puerto Rico plant. This was told to me by a major parts supplier.

Standard Motor Parts used to make good products-don't know where they are made today.
