Note the 'Air Raid" headlight covers.

Isn't that a '40?
I've got a book, 'Ford at War", on WWII German Fords...Germany had its own Ford factory of course, and used many more Fords from occupied areas and foreign armies. Ford trucks were the main transport, and according to the book all or virtually all V8 Fords in Germany were requisitioned for the military. Passenger cars were mostly cut off behind the doors and rebodied as light trucks and radio vans.
The variety used was thus very considerable...BB's, most kinds of 1930's big trucks, and the '40-42 type trucks that were the main current production lines during the war.

It looks like a 40 Std. grille with 39 headlights, if it were American.

With all that shiny chrome, why would they wory about the headlights? If i were going to ride in it in that situation i would be removing all chrome including bumpers or at least painting the chrome.

It took a while for sealed beems to gain wide usage in Europe. My old 47 Triumph 1800 still had incadecent bulbs with reflectors when new.

Neat looking Ford Mike. I spent three years in Germany starting in 1956 and never saw anything like that. American made cars brought a premium in Europe for Americans stationed there. Upon returning home the owners would sometimes sell their cars and have a new one waiting for them in the US. Most Germans could not afford our cars or putting gas in them. Gasoline was 15 cents a gallon on base but was very expensive on the economy. We could have bought a new Volkswagen for $1200 but there was a 6 months waiting list. Too, I was only making about $120 a month. But on the other hand good German bier was about 20 cents a bottle. I enjoyed my three years there.

Wipers appear to be below the windshield ('40) rather than above it ('39.)

OK - I should have called it a 1939-1940 Ford.
I was looking at the headlights.
I don't know what it is. It's probably a '40.
