Model AA Transmission

Dose anybody know who made the 4 speed transmissions and is there a parts list available especially for the intermediate out put shaft.

I found the intermediate shaft parts for a 1930 AA at Bert's, Little Dearborn, and at a swap meet. Between those three I was able to replace the intermediate shaft, as every part of it was bad due to no lubrication.

Here is a Transmission Parts Diagram with Part #s, I believe Ford Made the Transmission in House. Only Coupling Shafts Photos, also a Parts Diagram for Dual High. Hope these Help You.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the transmissions were made (or designed) by Warner Gear and made by both Warner and Detroit Gear and Machine, which I believe later was taken over by Warner Gear. Many of the cases have either a WG or DGM cast into them.

Thanks Guys,

The complete illustrations were just what we needed for part numbers.
Cheers...

Re: Model AA Transmission

Yup. Warner gear later morphed into Borg-Warner. (Who by 1995 had forgotten how to build transmissions for Chev C1500 5 speed trucks.)

Parts and even whole truck trannies are available mucho plenty for small money. There are two versions of the top/gear shift: one with a pinned cap-lever, the other with a screw on cap. The tops are interchangeable.

Bottom usually found with "smile cracks" on the underside caused by leaving the top off - getting rain/water inside - and then freezing.

Something about them caused the cracking to occur easily.
