1930-31 CCPU canopy kit

Does anyone know of a vendor that has reporduced the bed canopy kit offered by Ford in 1931 for CCPU's? Does anyone know if drawings are available for the kit?

Thanks,

Pmsqrd

Are you talking this style?

Doesn't take too much to build one from scratch with a tape measure, a table saw, a jig saw, router, and a drill. The critical dimensions are from pocket to pocket for the four corner posts and how high you want it to stick up above the cab. I'm using 5/4" x 6" pressure treated deck boards (pick out some good ones without knots) with the radiused edges for the 4 posts (rip down and radius the cut 90° edges) and canopy framework. The front, intermediate, and rear frame board tops are cut to match the pickup cab top profile, cut out with a jig saw after making a matching template. I'm planning on using treated plywood covered with a black fabric for the top and staining everything ebony. You could also use slats running front to back in lieu of plywood. How fancy do you want to get? It's on my winter project list to complete. :)

I have a model car with the canopy on it. Really cool. I'll scale it up on CAD. I think you would use Cobra long grain for the material. Comes 64" wide sold by foot at $6.95. Amish can make Oak frames and sew the top!!! Yep good winter project.
