Inside sun visor

I often thought there was a need for an interior sun visor in the Model A, but never saw one installed. Until today when I saw NHUSA's photos. In one picture there is a visor that seems to match the interior.

Did Ford ever offer an inside visor? Does anyone else run with one (or two)?

That came out with Vics and continued. Im guessing with as many aftermarket acessorizers (sears, western auto, MW et al) there were some out there before vics. But havent seen such.

That photos shows the correct interior visor for Victoria or Slant window 4 door. Some cars had 2 and some only one. The number depends on the time of procuction. The only way to know for sure if you had two or one is to look at the roof ribs for screw holes. LeBarron Boney sells replacement visors but it seems all the suppliers are out of the brackets.

I too have found the need for an interior adjustable sun-visor for My '31 Dlx Coupe. Not being able to afford the reproduction brackets that were made a few years ago for the Victoria / Slant Window sedans, I started searching wrecking yards for some early (1960- 70) cars that might have something I could adapt to my Coupe's wooden header. Not successful. But that is still a goal of mine - to find a visor (or two) that could be adapted from a newer car to my Model A. I really do think that the are extremely useful for the daily (or otherwise) driver.

Re: Inside sun visor

the original visors are only partially practical. They do not swing to one side, so if the sun is coming in from one side, or off to the corner where swinging the visor might block it, you're out of luck. But they're better than nothing.

I have the two that came from the factory with my late 160B. For those who have not seen or used them, they are hinged on the back, not the front. When pulled down it tilts toward your face, not against the windshield. A rather uncomfortable position in my opinion.

I agree with Mike's assessment of the inside visor. I never could figure why it was mounted backwards.

The one point nobody mentioned is the fact that inside visors were only present on slant windshield models which had no outside visor.

Best thing to use for sun visor . Go to airplane supply company and buy the tinted plastic stick on peel off sheets that small planes use to block the sun works great on any side or any place on your windshield . move it any time to any spot. CHEAP. have fun modelAtony Lafayette,LA
