Horn button rod length Ready to order some parts for my steering column. But I see there are 3 different lengths for 30/31s. Neither of my steering columns has a horn button rod installed so I don't know what length I need. My replacement column has the shaft....I'm assuming I can measure this daft to determine which goth button assembly I need to order. The question is.... Where do I measure to and can it be done without completely disassembling the steering box?

Re: Horn button rod length Better to look at the chart in Bratton's catalog. It shows which ones are correct for which columns. It might be on their web site too.

Re: Horn button rod length That's what I was looking at...it just lists them by length....but I don't have and old one to measure.

Re: Horn button rod length Yes there are three different lengths shown in the catalogs for 1930, but most 1930 vehicles and all 1931 use the 45 31/32 rod (A3616-H). The demand for the other two rods is very small.

If you look it also lists the length of the steering column tube and the shaft for the two tooth gears. Bob |

Re: Horn button rod length I think Mike's catalog shows the different ones, and shows where to measure them.

Re: Horn button rod length That rod is actually for the light switch as well. Maybe it's listed under that classification...
