Cam Techniques Closing

I was thinking of using the L-100 cam in my Flathead and called up Cam Techniques only to find out they are closing. The owner said he was retiring for the second time. He mentioned he was talking to some of the other cam grinders about the L-100. Hopefully someone else will start grinding this cam as it seems to be a good one.

Thanks,

Thanks for posting the bad news. Sorry to hear Dave is retiring. Lot of experience to loose. I would stay in touch with Dave. Someone should be interested in the original L-100 masters he acquired from the Literrio Bros.

Time marches on unfortunately. We were lucky enough to get an L -100 a year or two ago.
Some one will sure pick up the reins and run with this successful business .best of luck with the retirement Dave.

That's unfortunate, I had an L100 ground from a stock cam from him around a year ago. Just putting an engine together with it now...I feel pretty lucky now, hope I dont wipe it out on break in:o

Re: Cam Techniques Closing

Scheider Cams has a Flathead grind that is very similar to the L-100. Scheider's calls theirs an S-100. When I spoke with them over the phone about it, they said that they cannot grind it on a stock core because it reduces the base circle too, but maybe that was just the opininon of the person that I spoke with. Maybe worth calling and asking again about a regrind. The price for a regrind is $150.00 which includes relieving/undercutting the trunk/base circle because I asked about another one of their grinds as a regrind that needed relieving. They said that the 270F was the biggest cam they could regrind on a stock core. The S-100 on a new core is $345.00

It is in the bottom right corner of the Flathead grinds webpage:
