My 29 Tudor came with a replacement short grain. I think it looks a little better than today's long grain, but I'd be OK with either one. The original has a flatter surface than what's sold today. I don't think I have a picture of the original material.

The original top material on my February 1929 Tudor was the long grain material.

Now on the other hand...My September 1929 Standard Coupe had short grain.

That is a common interpretation but not exactly correct. It actually says course "long-short" grain and for the open models is states fine "long-short" grain. That is what they've been called in the industry for at least 65 years. and what George DeAngelis came up with when writing articles for the Model "A" News in the 1960's. It seems most folks want to separate that into two differing words.

There were no options.

Marco's photo could be my Tudor when I bought it in 1967. It was a fresh top (NOS?) then, and it's still going strong.
