'29 Rumble to Trunk

I have a '29 Coupe with a rumble seat that I want to convert to a trunk.

Is it true that I can just flip the lid around, or is there a different curvature to the rumble vs. trunk.

Another point of confusion is that the latch end of the rumble lid also has what appear to be provisions to mount the trunk hinge pins. I also see matching holes in the upper gutters.

Finally, is the sheet metal floor of the rumble compartment different in the trunk model?

Thanks for your help.

You will need to move the handle Weld one up and drill a new one. You also so need one of these trunk panels . And yes those holes are for the trunk hinge pins.

The lid stays in the same position, and the latch and handle are moved to the bottom. The hinges mount to the body where the half moon wedges (if you have them) are mounted in the upper corners. I did this to a 29 coupe a few years ago, and it was great to have a trunk instead of a rumble.
The panel inside and under the lid is different, and the brace for the spare tire mount (if you have one) is different. The floor panel/seat riser stays the same.
