Under the middle of the axle.

Hi Burt,

If you decide to crawl under the car for just a second, please set your raise front axle on (2) four (4) legged jack stands.

I also leave the jack in a raised position, just snug against the axle, in addition to the jack stands.

I have taken to sitting the wheels on railway sleepers (ties) but whenever possible I leave the trolley jack in place also - you realy can not be too careful when working under the car - more so if you are working alone.

Why? What's wrong with welding a leaking gas tank? You don't want to be dripping gas on the road and polluting our ground water! LOL

And he chocked the wheel. OSHA would be proud.

That is very unsafe. He should have had a 3rd 2x4 at the rear.

Do you need a third beam if the others are pressure-treated?

I wish a giant black cloud would come over Minnestoa. It's been like a suna here for several days and more to come. 97* and high humidity ain't much fun when the house and garage don't have A/C.

Brilliant truck mechanic -- such talent.

No doubt he has his wife anchored in the passenger seat for a counterweight to avoid possible vehicle rocking in case a strong gust of wind.

He no doubt could qualify for the new open position for the Head Safety Inspector at the local Gunpowder & Dynamite Factory on the other side of town.

Thanks for sharing Mike.
