LeBaron Bonney Top Leaks I have a 48 Ford Conv. I had a LeBaron Bonney Top installed in 07, The first time I was in Heavy Rain it leaked badly around all the seams last year. Last Winter LeBaron Bonney had a new top installed by one of their installers. I just got back from Stowe, VT meet. We had 2 days that it rained hard. It leaked very badly again around the seams. Has anyone had trouble with their tops leaking badly ? I had the T-39 Tan material. What other brands have people used with no leaks in very hard rain? Thanks for any HELP.

Re: LeBaron Bonney Top Leaks Consider treating the top with RaggTopp, an amazing product that will not alter your top's color or texture.

Re: LeBaron Bonney Top Leaks I toured the Haartz factory last year and their top material must be able to withstand something like 30 feet of water. My 49 has water come in where it meets the header but that has nothing to do with the roof. My top was made by a former employee of L-B.

Re: LeBaron Bonney Top Leaks I've never had any convertible tops leak at the seams, but Ford Convertibles (and, to be fair, most Convertibles) leak, especially in a heavy rain. I have a top on our '39 CS that was made by Electron Top in Richmond Hill, NY, the top has been on the car for just over eight years and it has to be one of the best tops I've ever had as far as wear, overall fit, etc., goes. Most of the water leaks in convertibles (in my experience) are attributable to top adjustment and rubber seals fitting properly. Ford advertised their Convertibles as “all weather cars”, I think that’s because all the weather comes inside the car no matter if the top is up or down… LOL I love Convertibles!:)
