Rivet Question 2 Attachment(s)
While replacing the rear header on my 1930 Tudor, the right side corner bracket that attaches to the rear roof panel came off. It was held to the roof panel by one rivet that appears to have the "waffle" pattern on the end.
Considering the small amount of room, how was this rivet set? Since it will never be seen again once the car is completed, would it just be easier to replace the rivet with a nut and bolt? |

Re: Rivet Question Definately get out your nut and bolt cans and bolt 'er up.

Re: Rivet Question Thanks guys. I will probably go the bolt and nut route. I would be somewhat concerned about causing damage trying to get a rivet set in such tight quarters without proper riveting tools. I try hard not to create any "backward" steps as I progress, since they seem to pop up on their own;)

Re: Rivet Question Could a pop rivet work in that spot?
That would be a cleaner and closer to original fix than a nut and bolt. |
