Rumble Gutter Drain

My coupe had a trunk, the rain gutters went through the rear inside lower pan and drained underneath the car. I have now placed a curved lower inner rear panel such that would be used in a rumble. The gutter no longer reaches the lower rear panel. The gutter would drain into the trunk! This cant be right...what am I missing on this?

Thanks, Steve

Does your "lower inner panel" have a series of holes going along the very most lower part of the panel itself?

I have a new lower panel without holes (yet). Does the gutter drain right into the trunk? I would think that would make for a wet trunk area?
