Beatersville Flathead Eye candy.....

We always attend the Beatersville Car show in Louisville Ky, the weekend of the Indy 500 . A great show with hundreds of cars,a major pinup contest, large bar with thre or four different areas to hang out and some great friends etc.
This year i rode down with my son in a off topic ( 1918 Dodge Roadster) and froze all the way down (110 miles) but had a great time.
I am doing a seminar at the Indy Road Rocket Rumble in June and took a picture of every ignition system i could see with my camera to talk about in this seminar.
Thought you guys would like to see some "flatheads- hot rods"....

Wow, I like that Lincoln Zephyr V-12... :D That's an interesting intake manifold with the carbs mounted in reverse... I also like the cap on the distributor with remotely mounted coils… Thanks for posting the photos.

The dual external coils on the v12 is a kit. The Zephyr I take care of has it. Be leery of the separator between the two pickups. The one I work with was a poor fit and had to be re-machined for a larger separator due to arching.

Thanks for that information. I'm still running the original coil-distributor set up on our '39 LZ but, I thought that split coil set up might be a good back up.

It is a good set up once repaired. The LZ I work on has dual carbs and high compression heads so he was told he would need the higher output voltage provided by the dual tube coil setup.

When you see all those ugly wires from the top mounted distributors,it sure makes a helmet distributor look nice.
