Brake Rod Return Springs - Too Long?

Could someone measure and post the length of orginal wire brake rod return springs. The ones I have measure 5 5/8" tip to tip and I suspect they may be too long. They are causing the front service brake rods to 'bow' away from the frame and the rears away from the radius arms.

I have the same problem and wonder if the bowing rods caused by the too-long wire-type rod return springs are contributing to my brakes being a bit spongy?
I too, welcome advice. Thanks.

Does this help? They are new, not original.

Did you set your service brake rod length proper? 51 7/16 to 51 1/2 center eye to center eye?
