Tailight wireing ?
 

LOOKING FOR DIFFERENT WAYS OTHERS HAVE WIRED THE TAILIGHT FOR BRAKE-TURN AND TAILLIGHT. THANKS:rolleyes:

Wire them normally as the turn signal and the brake light will use the same filiment in the bulb. The tail light bulb is on its own. Whose turn signal kit are you planning to use?

Just like Brent said. Signal-stats are readily available and don't look too bad when installed. I use the parking lights and cowl lights for the fronts.

While people in the Model T or A world might expect to see turn signals in the cowl lights, most people you encounter do not. I would mount the fronts where people would expect to see them., about bumper height in front. If you mount them in the head light and drive with them on, I think the turn signals get too washed out by the head lights. If you buy a kit, it should come with a diagram. The guy I work with makes a nice inside mount for the fuse that includes a mount for the flasher. Contact me off line if you would like more info.

Bret if you wire them into the brake lights they work like flashers ? Both sides flash.

Not if they are wired correctly thru a signal-stat. But, since you asked Bret [whoever that is] I'll let him answer. [smiley face]

Im using an r & r ent. Kit, the one with the switch mounted on the shift lever and nice beeper.

Too late for me to answer your question on the wiring, but if you hadn't already purchased the kit, I'd have suggested buying the turn signal kit that is completely seperate from the stock wiring. This makes installation easy and in case of a problem it's easier to fix.

I'm using the fog lights as front signals and between the bumper bars in the rear. Wired everything separately with all wires in black loom and flasher and a buss bar mounted with magnet behind left kick panel, signal stat stalk, followed their directions, have four brake lights in the rear ( both fenders and both bumper lights. FWIW

This is what I did. Bought my kit (SignalStat 900) from Sacramento Vintage Ford. They modify wiring especially for the Model A and it has worked perfectly since day one!

Narva make a nice indicator light unit that is chrome and does not look out of place on the A. I made some stainless brackets that use the bumper clamp bolts and are stepped back from the bumper. They mount above the bumper and clamp. The stalk I use is a Narva brand, but it is the Signalstat mentioned previously, just reboxed with a Narve sticker. The wiring is run separately, and the flasher can is mounted in the engine bay, on a bracket that uses existing cowl bolts. This way, I can remove the whole system without leaving a trace. The bracket also mounts my light and horn relays, which I use because on RHD's, the light switch is directly under the carb inlet.
