Advice on a strange engine number Hi There to everyone;
I am looking at possibly purchasing a 1931 Tudor. The engine number on this vehicle is CA1337C. I am told that it is not the original engine and the number to me would signify and early 1928 engine. Apparently the number has the Ford stars on either side of the number. What has me puzzled it the "C" at the end of the number. Can anyone enlighten me about this number and the significance of the "C" at the end? Thanks Dicki |
Re: Advice on a strange engine number I have a similar engine, look closely I bet the pad was ground down and it was restamped by CA DMV.... Mine is VA#### and it is a VA title....

CA1337 would be a Canadian manufactured engine, very early at that. I don't know what the C at the end represents, look close, maybe it is a "0". Canadian engine numbers started out CA followed by CAQ, CAW, CAE, with the last letter of the sequence being the top row of the keyboard from left to right. Darryl in Fairbanks |
