Window Help

Hi guys
I have a cracked passenger side window (don't ask long story) that needs to be replaced. Are they hard to take out? Is there anything special I need to know before attempting it? Also, are they hard to put back in? I don't want to take it to a glass shop but would rather order the glass and put it in myself. Any suggestions?

It's not hard at all. Take you time and you can handle it. Modern glass shops will have no idea how to remove the old glass and insert the new. Well in my neighborhood anyway.

Re: Window Help

take it to a local glass company, if you have the window they can use it as a pattern, make sure you get the thick glass if yours is original. call or check with several shops, you will be surprised the difference in cost from shop to shop, having it made locally cuts down on the chance it will be broken in shipment

Re: Window Help

We have only one shop here in OKC that knows what glass to use and how to set it properly in the channel. We have used him for replacement glass for many years. I have also purchased full kits from some of the vendors. Now is the time to also look at the windows channels and the regulator and see if they need work.
