Early Hood Hi Ford Barnhttp://img594.imageshack.us/img594/2...0424223620.jpg..
I have sat and studied old photos of very early hood from Model A and has obseveret the louvres top edge are parralleled on the first prototypes, and later parrallede with the lower edge of the hood .. The images from the first 200 Model A, shows both that they are parrallelede the top and the lower edge .. Are there some who know when it was standard with parralleled on top .. ? I do know there is a changeca mid 1928 .. But from these pictures, it seems as though both types have been installed in the start 1927 http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/931...0424223713.jpg And the Picture up here, have no leather on corner.. This is from Nov 1927... So i am a Little bit confused, i have been told, all Model A have only the first type Hood from start to mid 1928.. And if i look at thoose pic, i can see itīs not true... Have some of the peoble in here observed the same.?? |
Re: Early Hood Per,
The lower photo looks distorted? Need too think some, on this. Dudley ** also..on the lower one, it has a curtain snap in the "A" pillar. That's interesting. |
Re: Early Hood I agree it looks distorted or atleast the left headlight is way out of adjustment. Handy for hunting coons, but not so good for driving. Rod

Re: Early Hood OK....bottom photo...use your cursor as a ruler, they are not even with the
hinge(different spacing)..it's tapered. |
Re: Early Hood 7 Attachment(s)
Hi Per
These pictures of an early phaeton clearly show parallel louvres. All the cars shown in the Autocar Magazine article from 9 December 1927 also show this feature. Interestingly the photo Brad Minners posted of the Sport Coupe at the London showing in 1927 did not. |
Re: Early Hood 2nd pix from 'as henry built it' pg 81, '28-29 models full view is less distorted but driver side light does seem out of alignment in it.

Re: Early Hood Go too the MARC sight and look at the same photos, that enlarge, there (louvers)not even with the hinge line. The first photo, thanks Bick, is so early and a prototype that
it has 2 different colors of pin striping, one on each side. |
Re: Early Hood Quote:
This is my point, some did not have parralleled the top, and some did have.. But it will be hard to find out, when the do the change for good... And use the same Hood forward to mid 1928... On my Tudor ( * A 2820 * ) , the Hood was parrallelded the top edge and i buy a used one, there was parralleled the lower edge.. But maybee it was wrong, and the one there was parralleled the top is the orig.?? Per, |
