How to tell if horn is 12 volt

My new-to-me '30 ccpu is running a 12 volt system. The horn is a EA Laboratories Model FM horn. It "sounds" like it is 6 volt running on 12 volts, it is fast and loud. I took the cover off and this is what it looks like:

The photos I have seen here and on the net have shown insulated wire in the windings, not the enameled wire like shown on my horn. It may have been rewound sometime in the past. Is there any way to check the horn to see if it has been rewound to 12 volts?

Thanks,
Hugh

Get a variable resistor, put it in line with the horn, then dial the speed and sound you desire.

I like my 6 volt horn with 12 volts it's really loud and people hear me.
It's worked this way for 4 years gets used almost every week from spring to late fall.
My two boys 6-9 and every little kid at the car show blast the thing all the time.
