Re: need model A engine weight-no tranny I think that I read that from head to pan and crank pulley to flywheel 430#.....

Re: need model A engine weight-no tranny Likon is correct...if you pull the flywheel off, it is 380#

Re: need model A engine weight-no tranny No wonder carrying a block to my car a few years ago made my back hurt!

Re: need model A engine weight-no tranny Best bet is to get a handcart at Lowe's or Home Depot,
like an appliance dolly, and strap it to that. Easy to move around that way. Jim |
Re: need model A engine weight-no tranny I had a long block with clutch and pressure plate shipped to my house.
shipping invoice shows 422. It was in a crate so subtract maybe 15-20 for the wood box |
Re: need model A engine weight-no tranny My engine was 384 pounds prior to crating, with crate shipping weight was 412 pounds. I agree with Jim. Buy a Harbor freight appliance cart and strap it to it. Much easier to deal with. Some great deals to be had when just shipping an engine especially if trucker already has a vehicle headed to the same location or city and he has extra room.
Don't take your first estimate as it is very competitive. Al |
