License Plate Restorers
 

I am looking for recommendations for people that restore license plates. If you
have had your plates professionally restored could you recommend the company that did it.

I've had a couple of plates done by Restore-A-Tag http://restoreatag.com/ in Maryland. Excellent work, in fact I have a thiird plate up ther now. Check out their website.

in ny, if your registering your car as historical, with '30's plates, they cannot
be repainted...

California does allow restored plates as long as the numbers are still good, and that correct paint color is used.

NY says that they don't allow restored plates, but in my experience they will accept restored plates as long as they are the correct colors. Their website gives a number to call to verify that the plate numbers are unused.

Unless a tag is very over restored ( which a lot of places do ) it would be a tough one for a MVA to say you can't use it. How do they know???
