I'm needing some help with this one.. 55 Customline Alright, so I just got this 1955 Customline 4dr V8. I'm not much into fords, but this was my great uncle David's that he bought brand new, and I actually like this one. But Shortly after buying it, he was killed in a car accident in his work truck, so the car has sat for a little over 60 years. Now, over time, the car has been shot, and rust has taken almost every inch of flooring. If you put seats it it, they sit on the ground. And the hood hasn't been opened in 60 years; it's totally rusted shut. Nonetheless, I'm still going to restore it. Now here's the kicker, I'm only 18, and still in school, AND frame off restoring a 1968 GMC suburban at the moment. My question is, where is the best, and cheapest place to order parts? Like the floors and wiring and just about everything else on the car. Haha. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: I'm needing some help with this one.. 55 Customline I like this place in Oklahoma City:http://www.classicautopartsonlinecat...sz10flx&from=2
I'd just call them though, as there web site doesn't list all the parts they sell. |
Re: I'm needing some help with this one.. 55 Customline I've driven past that place a thousand times and totally forgot about them. Thanks.

Re: I'm needing some help with this one.. 55 Customline No problem. I have bought several parts from them for my '56 Customline. I have always dealt with Kevin. He's a real nice guy.

Re: I'm needing some help with this one.. 55 Customline If that car is that original, I would photo document everything before disassembly, irregardless of rust, etc. The photo documentation may prove invaluable to restorers of that type car.

Re: I'm needing some help with this one.. 55 Customline Here are some others. You kind of have to compare. Some places sell the same thing for a lot more or less than the others.

Re: I'm needing some help with this one.. 55 Customline Any good places to order all the floor pans and floor supports?

Re: I'm needing some help with this one.. 55 Customline I believe all the vendors that BIGDADDY3 listed have the floor pans and repair panels.
Yblocksforever.com is another good place to hang out when working on a mid-fifties/early sixties Ford. |

Re: I'm needing some help with this one.. 55 Customline The place in OKC is fun to visit. Start at one end and walk to the other end for a walk through history. Pick up a cataloge while you are there.

Re: I'm needing some help with this one.. 55 Customline It's been a while since I posted on here, but the car has been covered up and sat in the back. This is way too big of a project for me at the moment, I just don't have the time for it. A buddy and I are in the process of opening a Hotrod shop, so we've been working on other stuff non-stop. I will make it back around to this car eventually, but now just isn't the time.
