Starter?

How do you determine if the starter is the problem, I cleaned the Armature, installed new brush set, but the starter still turns over very slow or not at all. The battery is new. This vehicle always started up immediately before.

that was my next move, to see if my grounds were clean, after trying to start the car numerous times I touched the battery connection to the starter and it was very hot.

History tells me to always start with the grounds when I have electrical issues.

the connection that gets hot is a bad connection ---start there

Re: Starter?

If one of the starter bolts are too long , it can drag against the flywheel and cause drag . When I go through a starter , I always replace the rear bushing . A worn rear bushing can cause the armature to drag .
