Route66kix has some of these for sale in the Swap Meet Section. Or, you can find them on E-Bay.

I subscribed when new, in the early 70's, and still have mine. They are still fun to read and look thru even after all these years. They are a good magazine to have in your old Ford library.

If you don't have these, they are well worth the time and money if you like T's-A's-V/8's

I too, a couple years ago found complete set.
Very interesting and lots of pictures I've not seen elsewhere.
They're worth it in photos and info.

I have two years of "the restorer, model A club" from 2010-11 I'm going to donate to my locate library. Geez I hope people still go to the library. A yr of quartly jalopy journals, and a couple tech books. Keeping a few good ones for myself, like vanpelts, verns, rons, jwls publications.


Never give up my 40s-60s hotrod/carcraft/rodding&restyling/popmech/etc. :D ...I'm always looking for a few.

I have a complete set of Ford Life with the binders. My wife was working for Lorin Sorensen at the time and typed those magazines. Lots of great info in those magazines for anybody that likes old Fords.

There were 2 slightly different volume 1 #1 issues of that, ( I have both) and I never got around to asking Lorin why that was. I bet TJ's wife could shed some light on that.

I have mine, bought at a V8 meet. Read all of them. Very informative and a lot's of great pictures of parts and old Ford's not seen in other publications. I just might pull them out again to read!

Mike , the original first issue was printed in a small quantity and sold out before Lorin realized the demand would be high. Many new subscribers missed out on the first issue, so it was reprinted to give all the subscribers that started with the second issue a chance to have the first issue. In those days the magazines were printed in Stockton, Ca. On my days off from my regular job I drove a U-Haul truck to Stockton and picked up the magazines and brought them to St. Helena, Ca. Then the assembly line(Lorin, his wife Edy, my wife, myself, and another lady helper) hand sealed the magazines into the clear plastic bags, attached the mailing labels and then placed them in big USPS bags with the assigned area zip codes. The bags were then loaded into the U-Haul truck and taken to the St. Helena post office. The only "automation" was the actual printing of the magazine.

Mystery solved! Thanks Tom for that insight into the magazine "production". Every time I look at my 40 wagon I think about Lorin and recall talking to him about his and that he maybe had the last production numbered body. Mine was late but his appeared to be the last or very near it.
You must have enough memories of him to write a book yourself!

Actually, there are three first issues in my collection, cover photos are identical but the printing in the bottom ribbon is different.

They are great reading & full of an amazing amount of Ford Motor Company information and related history.
