35-36 rear trans mount. Source for rubber ring?
 

I‘m putting together a parts list for a toploader rebuild, my winter project. I have the 48-5089 rear mount which is clean and ready to go, but the rubber was hashed.
Replacements include both the steel mount and the rubber bushing, but the gauge looks thinner, and it’s $50 when I only need $10 worth of rubber to go with my better quality stock mount.

Anyone have a source a part no. for just the rubber or the best quality of full replacement?

The only way to get it perfect is too have an original ford stamped steel piece shipped off to someone putting new rubber on it...
The aftermarket ones are as always a gamble...that it worked great last time doesn´t mean they now have the same supplier...sadly how things are today...

I've never seen the rubber part available separately, but even at my age there's plenty I've never seen. If you or anyone else reading this post, knows of, or finds a source for those, please post it here.

You send off the prepared steelpart to a company vulcanizing new rubber to it.
Today you could probably make a mold and poor uretan on it yourself...just have to get the shore(hardness) of the polyurethane right...

Chris, I have purchased two of these from Mike Driskell in the past year. Both were very nice and a perfect fit.

I've thought of trying something like that just to see how well I could make that work. If I still worked at my last employers company, I could get the guys in ours model shop to help with something like that. They could make prototype molds for anything conceivable.

Urethane would probably poor just fine into a latex mold.
Get hold of a good aftermarket trans mount and make a latexmold from that...

The rubber piece will not be available seperatly because it HAS to be vulcanized to the metal plates.
Taking your old plates to someone to redo it for you will cost more than 50 bucks, plus if it is not right, then it is a big job to take it out and redo the job.
I bought my replacement from Mac's and it fitted and looked right. Spend the 50 bucks, don't mess around.
