Re: Iola

ill be there! im guessing there is a map of vendor spaces somewhere on their website?

Re: Iola

When you pay to enter, they give you a booklet that has the vendor spaces marked on a map inside the booklet. However the print is quite small, so you better have your reading glasses handy.

Re: Iola

Iola starts July 9 and ends July 12. I have noticed that model A parts are getting pretty scarce at Iola, as well as most other swap meet. I guess that can be expected for 85+ year old cars.

Re: Iola

I other words NOT worth going to I'm only looking for 1 part and that part is very hard to find anywhere.
That's why I thought that maybe I would find it down there but I guess NOT I will just have to stick it out on the barn and E-Bay.
But the problem is I've been looking for them for 5 years now it's the sliders for the Late 31 Deluxe Tudor Sedan and the Vicky and I know there's more but I just can't think of them right now.
But that's what I was going to go down there for but now I won't I will just stick it out on here and E-Bay and hopfully some year I will find a set of them.
But thank you reggie

Re: Iola

Iola has a lot less Model A parts than years before. I never had any real luck until last year. I found a few hard to find parts and was very glad that I went. You never know what you will find. Parts Swaps sometimes can be very rewarding, especially when you find a part that you have been looking for. Parts swaps are always worth attending.

I am looking for a 3 speed top loader transmission or a 28 tooth cluster gear if anyone has one or knows of one. I will be there on Thursday.

Check with Darrel next to the indoor toilets and beer garden in the southeast part of the grounds. There's a good chance he might have one. If you park in the free parking field on the east side, then walk through the gates you'll walk right to the beer garden about 100 yards west, then turn left and walk 40 feet, Darrel is the first vendor on the left.

Does anybody have the Late 31 Deluxe Tudor Sedan seat sliders ????.
The sliders will also fit the A-400 and the late 31 Vicky same Sliders.
If so P.M. Me here and let me know as to what you want for them and some Pic's of them would be Nice also and what ever else is included with the sliders.
Thanks Reggie

Re: Iola

Iola was a success for me...found a few parts, saw some old friends, thought about some no longer around, worried about some that are still around, met some new ones (seaslug for one). More A parts than the last time I was there fewer buyers (Thursday)....

Re: Iola

I bought a few Model A parts, even though I wasn't looking for much. My lower back was hurting so much that I didn't get to cover the grounds like I wanted to. I found some tools and other odds and ends I can use. Like Jim said, the foot traffic was way down on Thursday, and several empty spots also. 500 empty spots this year and 350 empty spots last year. I think the greed of the new group that runs the show isn't helping. Spots are up to $80 per slot, and they cut back on the wrist bands they give for the spots rented. Camping sites are up another $10 over the already high rate. The kid haulers are up to $10 per trip, where they were $4 a couple years ago. Wrist bands are up to $18 this year, but I got lucky and found one laying in the road.

I found enough stuff to make the 500 mile round trip worth it, so I'll probably be back next year. There is a good variety of antique stuff there. Sure wish it wasn't always so hot, and so many hills to climb, but at least it didn't rain.
