'29 60C glass dimensions
 

Can any one provide the dimensions for windshield and window glass for a 1929 Briggs 60C? My car had no glass (except for some shards in the bottom of the doors) when I got it. I don't have a copy of the service bulletins, but do have a lot of books/restoration manuals, and although some do show dimensions, the 60C isn't included......

It may be the same as other windshield models of 1929 but I certainly don't have the dimensions you need.

This should be what Ford's dimensions were but there is a lack of fordor mention. http://www.mafca.com/downloads/Servi...p250_Glass.jpg

Bert's Model A Store lists one specifically for the Fordor Briggs but there are no dimensions. If you have a frame, you can use it as a pattern to have the glass cut.

Thanks Rotorwrench...that's the same drawing I have. I do have the windshield frame and there's a glass shop here that will do the glass....the owner of the shop also has a Model A. I'm sure he can do the windshield with the frame, just not sure of the doors and back window.

What plane is that in your avatar? It looks like a B-17... I can't blow it up big enough to see it well. I'm an A&P/IA also...do a lot of classics/warbirds.....

It's a B-17G manufactured at the Long Beech Douglas plant. My Pop and his crew named it the Miss-U. The photo was take at the Celone Air Field near Foggia, Italy where he was based in late 1944.

I went the helicopter route after I was certified with A&P ratings.

I know the frames were different in small ways between some model A cars an others but I don't know how much that affected the glass. The Ford produced cars used the same glass but the sub-contractors like Briggs & Murray may have had differences. I doubt it the differences were major but it certainly has to fit the frame well to seal properly.

I never went to Vietnam but I've worked with guys that were at Camp Radcliff and Camp Holloway among others. A lot of the pilots & mechanics stayed with helicopters after the Vietnam war was over.
