Holley model 94 Carburetor Questions I have a couple of questions about parts available for rebuilding these original carbs.
1. There are several different versions of the power valve or economizer valve included in the kits being sold today. There was a thread a while back that described the preferred valve. Can someone help me locate that thread? 2. The kits being sold today all include an accelerator pump and rod with a blue cardboard cover and the arm length is shorter than the originals. Can someone shed light on this? Thanks for any insight you can provide...............40larry |
Re: Holley model 94 Carburetor Questions If you buy your kit from Charly Price at Vintage Speed you'll get the correct (modified) power valve.

Re: Holley model 94 Carburetor Questions Only one is a power valve the second is a spark control valve which your Carb. may not have. A lot of the rebuild kits contain both.

Re: Holley model 94 Carburetor Questions A #7.5 power valve is the preferred one in today's rebuilt kits, IIRC.
Depending if you are at sea level or elevated altitude, this might be the right one for you - or not. Note: modern power valves have a shoulder which has to be machined away for correct seating. Do you run multiple carbs? You need to go lower in value, then. best is, you contact CharlieNY. |
Re: Holley model 94 Carburetor Questions I think I ordered accelerator pumps from Daytona, I went with the original leather style. Charlie, do you have these as well?

Re: Holley model 94 Carburetor Questions I do have a LIMITED supply of leather acc pumps , regret to say needed for my own rebuilds. A pump that works quite well is the newer style that uses a viton piston

Re: Holley model 94 Carburetor Questions Charlie is the best. Sent him my “good” running carb a couple of months ago. Very quick turnaround time due to me going out of town. I got it installed and it fired right up to a smooth idle. Starts great cold and idles and accelerates like new.
Didn’t mean to hijack the thread to praise Charlie’s work. Randy |
