Re: Radial Tires Be SURE to check the height of the Coker tires as compared to the ones you currently have.
I have 6.00 x 16 bias on the front and 6.50 x 16 bias on the back of my '36 5 window. I put the 6.50s on the front and they cleared during turning just fine. So I ordered the 6.50 x 16 RADIALS from Coker and they are an inch and a quarter taller than the 6.50 bias I have, and thus, WILL NOT clear the front fenders. I have had them too long and Coker will not take them back. So be careful. Oh, if anyone wants information on buying them, please send me a PM. |

Is that these?: https://www.cokertire.com/650r16-exc...rt-radial.html It says: Overall Diameter 28.80 Must be the width a problem on a '36. Imperial tyres vary greatly in size, metric not much. |

Headliner is not original in a pickup. Mine had headliner in it when I bought it, but it was pretty much rotten, so I took it out. My pickup is the late '31 with the steel top (and ribs). What I did next was to apply sound deadening/insulation (RoadKill) to the top and covered that with automotive "carpet". Not a very good picture, but I think you can get the idea. |

Re: Radial Tires I purchased 5 white wall tubed radial tires earlier this year and was able to put them on myself without removing the rims from the car. It was actually easier than I thought it would be.
....All I can say is they are amazing....the car drives more like a modern car and the ride is much more comfortable than the original bias ply tires. Definitely worth the investment. |
Re: Radial Tires Does anyone know if the radials last longer than the bias tires?

Re: Radial Tires 1 Attachment(s)
The Lucas American Classics seem to be a good price in comparison. 33% less
Any good?? |
Re: Radial Tires All you guys with radial tires said you love them, much better, wouldn’t go back etc. You didn’t say why you feel that way.
So what exactly what is there about them are different from the radials that so excite you? Do they ride better? Track better? Steer easier? Less friction? What’s better about them? |
Re: Radial Tires I have the 19" Coker's whitewall radial tires on my 1930 Tudor. They ride smoother, they run quieter and they track better. I can not say enough good things about them. It makes your model A feel more like a modern car going down the road. The tires are 6 ply and they have a wear rating of 400....very similar to a modern tire. I have already put a few thousand miles on the new tires and love them and they seem to be wearing well.
