Help identifying this dipstick tube 1 Attachment(s)
Dipstick tube on my 312 Country Sedan was never bolted to the head. I always thought it was just never attached. I soon discovered there are not enough bends in it. Clearly did not belong to this motor. Can anyone lend some insight where it came from? It does have a under layer of red-orange paint.

Re: Help identifying this dipstick tube May have been on the smaller 6, like the 144- 170 or 200.

Re: Help identifying this dipstick tube That tube looks correct for a front sump Y. Without knowing more about it, there's a good chance it was installed upside down in the block thus making the tab on the tube not aligning with the bolt hole in the head. Ted Eaton.

Re: Help identifying this dipstick tube If you turned it right side up, it looks like it would be for a full-size car Y-block (except the mounting bracket would then be facing the wrong way). Factory blooper maybe???
