NAPA MA9 replacement for Mallory cap
 

Guys,
The "I did not know that" thread is getting old so here is the refresh...
The NAPA Echlin dist cap....MA9....came in and it is a direct replaement
for the 2 pc Mallory cap. It is made in Germany with BRASS contacts.
My price with $12 shipping.....$78. I'll debut it on my latest sbc converted Mallory....4 lobe dual points, set up by Jim Linder hisself. It is black.

Are the contacts brass or aluminum? Picts show brass, but the description on line say aluminum.

Cap came in a sturdy NAPA Echlin box with the Echlin bear logo (haven't seen
that for awhile )

Do you guys realize how many "topless" Mallory distributors this is going to rehabilitate? All of a sudden, a lot of those $35 Mallory's on eBay without a cap are going to find a new home.:)

I got my MA7 rotor and MA9 cap today. They look good (brass contacts in the cap; made in Germany). I tried them on a couple of distributors and they fit all of the "YC" series distributors I have, but do not fit the "YL" models.

got my cap and rotor today. cap made in Germany, rotor made in usa $77.97 for the cap, $17.99 for the rotor, $2.88 Tax. Free shipping Rotor was in an Echlin box, the cap was in a Napa box
