I just found this distributor, it looks like it will fit a V-8.
IT HAS DUAL POINTS AND THE CAP IS A DELCO REMY.
I can't find any manufacture names on the body.
the pictures do not do this part justice, it looks new!
Anyone have any clues:confused:

Ford flathead , nice adapter made up by someone with a early delco slid into the adapter ......Nice piece !!!!!
Apears to be a two wire magnetic pulse unit , send us a couple pics of the insides . I can make it run with whatever you wish...

Re: Identify this mystery distributor

Reminds me of a buddy's 40 Ford pickup that he had in the mid-50's. Buddy's Dad, a machinist, thought the Ford distributor was a 'pain', and he made an adaption to run a Delco off of what was then a current Buick V8. He put it right up there where it was in plain sight & easy to service. (This was before Chevy V8's, pre-55)
This looks like a very nice adaption - must be 'modern', if it's as Bubba guesses - mag pickup.

Re: Identify this mystery distributor

Anyone know how to get a hold of Norm Frick. I am looking to buy one of his dual distributor mounts. I have a set of elco twin spark heads and the distributor for them but would like to run one of Norm's dual mounts. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I like to get this flathead running sometime soon.

Re: Identify this mystery distributor

Judging by the shape of the casting it looks like it is using a pair of fairly large bevel gears, rather than the usual cam/distributor high helix gears. Might partly explain the relatively large diameter of the upper body.
