Walker Radiator

Now that Walker radiator is out of business who has the next best quality radiator?

Re: Walker Radiator

"Brassworks", or maybe an original Ford product (if you can find a decent radiator shop close enough). It depends how deep your pockets are.

There was another thread about Walker’s demise that listed a few alternatives .....

I would put Brassworks on the top end of the list . . . and they're surely not a "second best" in the quality department. Also, they do a lot of custom work - from 100% stock style, to modifications for different engine combinations as well as core types. They're not a "cheap" radiator - they're a quality radiator . . . so you get what you pay for . . .

Brassworks is a class act. Their product and service are both outstanding. I speak from experience !

Re: Walker Radiator

Another excellent choice is Custom Auto Radiator in New Jersey. They have supplied me with radiators for my Deuces. Compared to Walker {which I tried and did not like} the C.A.R. radiators are superior. There not cheap as they say you get what you pay for.

I had them build a custom one and it is very nice.

I've also used their radiators and they are a quality product.

We tend to overlook the system of a motor. We rebuild a motor, buy a bunch of speed parts with no issue... and get all weird and stingy about a radiator... What I have to cool this motor too??? Radiator is one of the first thing I'd do on a car, then wiring. Then buy or mill heads.

I've used Custom Auto Radiator and US Radiator a couple of years ago for my 40. Both companies make a quality product.

I bought my first Custom Auto Radiator for my '32 after the Rodder's Journal article featuring you and three of your cars, all with C.A.R.'s. I was looking at Walker, but they would not work with me on a couple of minor changes.

My second C.A.R. is for my soon to be finished '40. A couple of club members also use their radiators. Very good company with a very well built product that will work with you on modifications.

I also have had 2 different radiators from brassworks. One is in front of a merc flathead and it is well made and the engine runs very cool. They will custom make about anything you need.

Here in New England, I'm using L-A Radiator Works in Dexter/Auburn, Maine.

And I've been told that Maine Radiator does a great job too.
