If you sandblast it and paint it black it would look great.

I’d buy it if there were two!
I think dual chrome horns would look great.
And it would only be $3k.....bargain
With the price of chrome they really might cost you that

There may be more to this than you think. This is not a chrome horn, ...or at least it does not appear to be. This is a hand-made, hand-spun stainless steel (-not chrome) horn. If we think back to the Allegheny Steel built 1931 Tudor Sedans that were built as the promo for Ford, -with only one surviving today, this would be a great start on cloning one of those Stainless-steel Sedans. While the price may not be for everyone, ...it definitely is not out of line for what it is in my view.

Actually, it looks like the car is missing that horn...

I think you are correct. If that is the case the current owner of the Allegheny Stainless Ford should grab it.

Huchins do fine by me - except for that one A&L.

For a guy building a custom that horn is spot on..hell,the talking point alone is worth the 1500..you know some cat will point at it and say its a cheap warshawsky repop..

Couple points - wire color wrong, screws same length, maybe flaking near the adjustment screw - ? Best drive it before buying.

I saw the SS '36 Ford Tudor at the Early V-8 museum in Auburn this summer. Man what a car pretty neat! And heav-vie:)

I know the man that made this horn and I've actually seen it. I have no vested interest in his sale of same but, the quality is pretty amazing for an item that was basically made by hand. As Brent said, not for everyone but a rare piece anyway. BTW, the area around the adjustment screw is not "flaking" as someone brought into question. There is a slight flaw in the stainless at that point. A little more work in that area and a re-polish could take it out. While it IS a fake in that it was made about 5 years ago, the description is accurate. Other than the motor & diaphragm, (which is all original, this horn is 100% Stainless with unbelievably good detail. And, it would be a shame to blast it and paint it. Enjoy looking. Just know that the pictures don't lie.

Thanks for clearing it up, Bob, good to know the history.

I too have seen this horn and it is truly a work of art. Made by a true craftsman. It is beautifully done.
