Re: ford aluminum heads

The only real con that I can think of is that aluminum heads tend to have increased corrosion and electrolysis issues over cast iron.

If you correctly maintain your cooling system it should not be an issue.

Re: ford aluminum heads

Since your car does not have the original heads, you have to make sure the pistons are flat top otherwise the original 35 style heads will not work.

Fit cast iron heads and paint them silver and all your worries will be over. Regards, Kevin.

Pro? They are correct and unlike cast iron painted in an attempt to appear correct (they never do) the aluminum head will cool better albeit not enough to make a big difference.

Con? A good set of aluminum heads will lighten your wallet significantly.

Re: ford aluminum heads

If the heads you have now have a part number embossed what is it? This could give you a good idea if they are for flat top pistons. Otherwise the best way to tell is to remove a head.

Hey Mike I have a few sets of aluminum heads but for flattop pistons. I can stop by the shop and show you them.
